I Knew I Would Make It

8in x 12in wood canvas art installation constructed using vintage VHS movie tapes and a traditional school lead pencil. All these items were aesthetically refurbished then later textured with a white chalk paint and a clear matte chalk finish.

Inspiration:

Inspired by all those people in the media, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. The list of entertainers, singers, musicians, comedians, actors, TV personalities as well as directors, producers, script writers and agents who parted ways from the school system to pursue a dream and made it, it’s staggering. It takes a lot of courage to stay true to your passion when an entire culture is stigmatized with the idea that the only way to success is through a degree.
