Expired Knowledge

50in x 24in Wood canvas art installation constructed using an authentic Smith-Corona Electra 110 typewriter and original metal case, a 1980’s dictionary and coffee mug. These items were aesthetically refurbished with a white chalk paint and a clear matte chalk top coat finish.

Inspiration:

Inspired by the impact the industrial revolution had in the school system, the lack of curriculum improvement and the amount of outdated knowledge our children are still being taught to this day. Archeological and scientific discoveries continue to mold what we know about the human species and our history on planet earth, yet curriculums continue to test students over facts that are no longer accurate.
